Pdvsa expects to increase refining capacity to 600,000 barrels per day by 2027
The president of Petróleos de Venezuela S.A., Héctor Obregón, said the increase in refining will be supported by greater availability of feedstock following the signing of oil agreements.
State-owned Petróleos de Venezuela S.A. (Pdvsa) expects to increase refinery processing capacity by 2027, raising output from the current 350,000 barrels per day to 600,000 barrels.
The president of the state oil company, Héctor Obregón, said this increase will be supported by greater availability of feedstock from oil agreements recently signed by Venezuela with multinational companies.
Speaking at the 82nd Annual Assembly of Fedecámaras, Obregón stressed that the company can supply the domestic fuel market with current refinery output. He noted that national demand stands at 130,000 barrels of gasoline and 60,000 barrels of diesel per day.
The official also said that 61 agreements have been signed with multinational energy companies, another 44 are currently being negotiated, and 65% of the companies are focused on developing greenfield projects, AVN reports.
