#ArgentinaCentralBankWillNotPushCryptoIntoBankingForTwoYears
🚨 Argentina’s central bank is putting the integration of cryptocurrencies into the banking sector on hold for the next two years.
Argentina’s central bank says there are no near-term plans to make cryptocurrency services available through traditional banks, despite the widespread use of crypto in the country.
Juan Curutchet, a senior supervisory official at the Central Bank of Argentina (BCRA), said there would be no change this year and linked the possibility of integration to President Javier Milei potentially serving a second term.
Here’s what that means:
⚠️ Under current rules, banks remain prohibited from offering cryptocurrency services.
₿ Argentinians can still access crypto through licensed virtual asset service providers.
🏦 The delay highlights the gap between growing demand for crypto and regulatory caution.
This is not a new two-year ban, nor a confirmed date for reopening the sector. For now, the current restrictions remain in place, and any future change will depend on regulatory decisions and economic conditions.
