I read a strong crypto headline…
but did you open the source, or just settle for the headline image?

I like breaking news down with three questions:

1. What actually happened?
An announcement of intent, a limited trial, or a service that has started working?
These are very different stages, even if the headline makes them seem like one achievement.

2. Who said it?
The project itself, an independent source, or an account reposting from another account?
And if the news includes a “partnership,” has the other side announced it too?

3. What are the limits of the news?
Available in which countries? For which users? And from what date?
The word “launch” can hide a lot of conditions behind it.

Then I ask: what did the publisher add on their own?

“A company is testing the technology” is news.
“The whole sector will change” is a prediction that needs evidence.

In my opinion, the best way to read the news is the one that lets you know what we know… and what we still don’t know.

What word in headlines makes you most suspicious and prompts you to open the source?
