Spot liquidity can no longer support the leverage hanging over the market. LUMIA has a market cap of just $20 million, yet open interest in perpetuals has ballooned to $23 million, while the top traders’ long/short ratio has surged to 2.5.

The order book is even more alarming: a wall of institutional sell orders is firmly holding the price down at 0.1395, while bids are extremely thin all the way down to 0.0785.

There’s an unbreakable ceiling above and a near-empty vacuum below. Leverage has begun to overwhelm spot liquidity. If a large order rushes for the exits near the highs, a stampede of longs could send the price crashing through the floor in an instant.

Holding onto a long here is like picking up pennies on the edge of a cliff. I won’t touch spot unless the price breaks through resistance on the rebound. If a cascade hits in that vacuum zone, your stop-loss order might not even find a counterparty.
