Ledger confirms an unauthorized implant in a device

On October 10, 2026, Ledger Support reported that one of the affected users’ devices contained an unauthorized hardware implant. The company said it was continuing to investigate and contact those affected. The new development is this specific confirmation.

The previous day, October 9, Ledger had announced an investigation into losses reported by buyers from the reseller CryptoBilis in Southeast Asia. As a precaution, it asked the reseller to suspend sales and shipments of its devices while it investigated.

The reported finding concerns one device. On its own, it does not prove that all devices are affected, establish the cause of all the losses, or allow a total amount to be determined. Confusing these levels of evidence can fuel rumors.

As a security reminder, the recovery phrase can be used to regain access to a wallet. Ledger reminds users not to share it with anyone or enter it on a computer or phone. If in doubt, consult the official channels at support.ledger.com and protect this information: a supposed support agent does not need your recovery words.

Market snapshot: On October 11 at 06:41 UTC, Binance Spot showed BTC at 83,115.13 USDT (+0.39% in 24 hours) and ETH at 2,504.97 USDT (+0.32%). These changes do not make it possible to attribute a market reaction to the incident or measure its impact.
