**🗓️ Week of Oct 12–18: CPI sets the tone for Bitcoin**

BTC ends the week at **~US$82,700–83,000**, with compressed volatility and sentiment in **Greed (64)**. Now comes data week.

**📌 Dates to mark (Brasília time):**
🔥 **Wednesday (Oct 14), 9:30 a.m.:** September CPI, the week's major event
📈 **Thursday (Oct 15):** Philly Fed Index, a gauge of U.S. manufacturing activity
💵 **Every day:** Bitcoin ETF flows, which show whether institutional money is returning

**🧠 Why does CPI carry so much weight right now?**
The Fed minutes came across as hawkish, and the market is already pricing in a significant chance of another rate hike by December. In other words, CPI doesn't just measure inflation: it shifts expectations for interest rates.

**🎭 The 3 scenarios:**
🟢 **CPI below expectations:** eases pressure on interest rates and opens the door to testing ~US$87,000
🟡 **CPI in line with expectations:** the market may continue moving sideways between ~US$80,400 and ~US$84,000
🔴 **CPI above expectations:** reinforces the case for higher rates, and support at ~US$80,400 will be tested again

**🎯 Chart levels:**
- Support: ~US$82,200 → ~US$80,400
- Resistance: ~US$83,500 → ~US$87,000

**⚠️ Details that matter:**
✔️ On CPI days, prices tend to move quickly in both directions and then reverse. A “false breakout” is not uncommon
✔️ With volatility compressed, a sharp move out of the range is common
✔️ High leverage at times like this is what causes the most liquidations

**Weekly checklist:**
1️⃣ Decide in advance where you'll exit if you're wrong
2️⃣ Reduce leverage in the minutes around the data release
3️⃣ Wait for the initial reaction to pass before acting
