Apple is used to setting the rules of the game.
But even giants can run into problems.
According to Nikkei Asia, Apple asked some suppliers to cut October orders for components for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max by at least 15%.
Reuters reported this information but could not independently confirm it. Apple itself has not yet confirmed the reports.
Why is this happening?
There are several possible reasons.
📱 1. iPhones are getting more expensive.
According to published data, the starting prices of the new Pro models have risen by $100 compared with the previous generation. Not every buyer is willing to pay more for another upgrade.
🤖 2. Artificial intelligence is getting more expensive.
Companies are buying up memory for their AI systems. This is putting additional pressure on the prices of components that smartphone manufacturers also need.
📉 3. Even a strong brand can’t guarantee the same level of demand.
People may love Apple, but that doesn’t mean they’ll buy every new iPhone regardless of the price.
And now for the most interesting part — what does this have to do with the market?
Apple isn’t a cryptocurrency. But news like this shows how quickly investor expectations can change.
If the market starts to doubt the growth of a major tech company, it can affect sentiment across the tech sector as a whole. Investor sentiment, interest rate expectations, and capital flows can also have an impact on Bitcoin.
But it would be a mistake to conclude that bad news for Apple will automatically lead to a drop in BTC.
Personally, I’m more curious about something else: how much longer will buyers be willing to pay for new devices while manufacturers are also trying to profit from AI and offset rising costs?
And one more thing.
On October 13, Apple is planning an event focused on new smart home products. The company may be able to shift the market’s attention to other areas of its business. But that doesn’t make the questions about iPhone demand go away.
What do you think: is Apple really starting to hit the limit of what buyers are willing to pay for new iPhones, or is this a temporary situation?
