💥💥💥1 YEAR AFTER THE CRASH💥💥💥
Exactly one year ago, more than $19,000M was liquidated in a single day. Today, ETFs for $ETH have seen outflows for 9 consecutive days. Did the market learn anything? 📊
1️⃣ What happened on 10/10/2025 (CoinDesk)
- Days after its peak (+126K), $BTC fell from ~122,600 to below 105,000 following the announcement of 100% tariffs on China
- More than $19,000M in leveraged positions liquidated in 24 hours
- Aave automatically liquidated $180M in collateral in 1 hour. The protocol worked… but $AAVE fell 64% intraday (278 → 100)
2️⃣ One year later: liquidity (CoinDesk Research)
✅ BTC: 1% market depth at ~$11.7M, ~75% higher than on crash day
✅ ETH: ~$5.3M at 1%, also ~75% higher
⚠️ Altcoins: 5% market depth is down ~1/3 since Jan 2025. Translation: BTC and ETH are more resilient. Altcoins remain fragile: fewer orders = more violent moves
3️⃣ What we're seeing today (Farside) - BTC ETFs: -$679M for the week, ending a 3-week inflow streak - ETH ETFs: 9 days in the red, -$697M cumulative - BTC at ~83K, 34% below its peak
4️⃣ The lesson for RWA and DeFi October 10 made one thing clear: the protocol can survive while the token still plunges. Aave processed everything without stopping; AAVE lost 64% in hours. With altcoin liquidity thinner than a year ago, a similar shock today would hit LINK, AAVE, and ONDO just as hard or harder.
5️⃣ What I'm watching
🔹 ETH ETFs ending their losing streak (2–3 days of inflows)
🔹 Open interest and funding: if leverage returns to its highs, the risk of another October 10 rises
🔹 Altcoin market depth: without liquidity, any news gets amplified. In short: the market bent, but it didn't break. But leverage hasn't disappeared, and altcoins have less of a cushion than before. Were you in the market on October 10? What have you changed since then? 👇
I hold LINK, AAVE, and ONDO. Analysis, not financial advice. #bitcoin #RWA #defi #crashmarket
