Thailand just green-lit spot crypto ETFs 🇹🇭
Thailand's SEC has finalized the rules letting local asset managers list spot Bitcoin and Ether ETFs on the Stock Exchange of Thailand, effective October 16. The bar is strict: single-asset passive tracking, at least 80% net exposure to the coin, SEC-regulated custodians — and no margin loans for buyers.
The door opens wider too: Thai mutual funds and private funds can now hold locally listed crypto ETFs, instead of only foreign ones.
Bitkub's co-founder put it well, pointing to the US spot ETF precedent as having "created new avenues" for investors. Thailand is now building its own on-ramp.
Not financial advice.

Thailand is also welcoming spot crypto ETFs 🇹🇭
Thailand's SEC finalized the rules this Thursday: local asset managers can list spot Bitcoin and Ether ETFs on the Stock Exchange of Thailand, effective October 16. The requirements are strict: passive tracking of a single coin, net exposure of at least 80%, assets held by licensed custodians, and brokers may not provide financing to buyers.
Meanwhile, Thai mutual funds and private funds can also invest in locally listed crypto ETFs, rather than being limited to overseas products.
The Bitkub co-founder cited the US spot ETF precedent, saying it had "created new avenues" for investors. Thailand is now building its own regulated on-ramp.
