$MAGIC The beating heart of the decentralized Treasure ecosystem
MAGIC is the native and reserve currency of the Treasure ecosystem, a decentralized gaming and NFT ecosystem built on Arbitrum, an Ethereum layer-2 solution. The project launched in September 2021, founded by John Patten, Gaarp, and Karel Vuong, and is governed entirely by a decentralized autonomous organization known as TreasureDAO.
The idea behind Treasure is to build something like a decentralized video game platform—not limited to a single game, but connecting dozens of games and communities under one economic umbrella and a shared narrative, while using MAGIC as the unified currency for all transactions within this interconnected world.
The main uses of the MAGIC token
The token serves four main roles within the ecosystem:
First: Medium of exchange. MAGIC is the exclusive currency of Treasure’s marketplace, known as Trove. All purchases and sales of in-game assets, such as land, equipment, and characters, are made using MAGIC only.
Second: Governance. Token holders can convert their tokens into sMAGIC through staking, which gives them voting rights in TreasureDAO on critical decisions, such as approving new games, setting marketplace fees, and allocating future emissions.
Third: The economic fuel for games. At the heart of the ecosystem is Bridgeworld, the central game that serves as the foundational layer on which the other games are built. The game relies on a three-part economy consisting of MAGIC, which represents energy; Treasures, which are resources in the form of NFTs; and Legions, which represent the players. Players use Treasures to mine MAGIC and craft equipment, while Treasures need MAGIC to function as productive assets.
Fourth: A scarce and diminishing resource. The token is designed to be deflationary. A portion of it is burned when used in games and to pay fees. As Treasure’s economy becomes more complex, MAGIC becomes harder to obtain, increasing its scarcity over time.
Economic data
The maximum supply of MAGIC is approximately 347.7 million tokens, of which more than 214 million are currently in circulation. The token follows the ERC-20 standard and can be bridged to other networks, such as the Ethereum mainnet and BNB Chain. MAGIC reached its all-time high of $6.49 on February 20, 2022, and is currently trading at around $0.06—down more than 98% from its peak—with a daily trading volume of approximately $9.5 million.
The ecosystem includes prominent games such as Smolworld, The Beacon, and Knights of the Ether. The token is available for trading on major platforms such as Binance, Coinbase, OKX, and Uniswap, and its smart contracts have been audited by CertiK.
