ChainCatcher reports that the U.S. blockade of Iranian ports has cut Iran’s oil exports to extremely low levels, costing Tehran billions of dollars in revenue each month.

Although economic pressure has not yet forced Iran to make concessions in negotiations, the Trump administration believes time is on the United States’ side and that the blockade is reinforcing the impact of sanctions.
