The three most common traps crypto beginners fall into—I’ve been there so you don’t have to.
When I first got into crypto, I was like most people: glued to the 1-minute charts, chasing pumps, panic-selling dips, and placing more than a dozen trades a day.$ETH
After three months, my account had shrunk from 10,000 USDT to 2,000 USDT.
Today, I’m sharing these traps in the hope that you won’t have to learn the hard way.
Trap #1: Always trying to buy at the very bottom and sell at the very top.
Do you do this too?
The price dips a little, and you think it might drop further, so you wait to buy. It rises a little, and you think it might go higher, so you wait to sell.
And what happens? You wait until it takes off, or until you’re stuck holding the bag.
There’s only one bottom and one top. What makes you think you’ll pick them every time?
Try a different approach: enter in stages and take profits in stages. Catch the middle of the move—that’s enough.
Trap #2: Going all-in and leaving yourself no way out.
You’re convinced you’ve got it figured out this time, so you bet everything in one go.
Then the market turns, and your account is wiped out.$LLYB
Ask yourself: when have you ever really called it right?
Even if you get the direction right, the market might move against you for a while before turning back.
If you’re all-in, you won’t be able to ride out that move.
Remember: your capital is your lifeline.
If you leave it no room to survive, it won’t leave you any opportunities.
Trap #3: Making decisions when your emotions take over.
You lose money and rush to win it back—taking bigger positions, holding losing trades, and averaging down.
You make money and think you’re a genius—so you add to your position, chase the price, and don’t take profits.
Both are warning signs of an impending liquidation.
What should you do?
Set firm rules: decide how much you’re willing to lose before exiting, and how much profit you’ll take.
Stick to them when you hit those levels. Don’t let your emotions place trades for you.
Honestly, the people who make money in crypto aren’t the smartest—they’re the ones who can control themselves.
Remember these traps, and you can avoid losing at least half as much.
