$MET surged more than 40% while much of the crypto market was in the red.
And I went looking for what was happening. I found an interesting story. Meteora, a Solana DeFi protocol, introduced DLMM Pro.
The idea is to give projects more control over how their tokens begin trading.
They’ll be able to configure the initial liquidity distribution, adjust fees, and determine how the market will open. It sounds technical, but the idea is simple. Today, when a token launches, the way its liquidity is arranged can make a huge difference for buyers, sellers, and liquidity providers.
Meteora wants to turn this into more flexible infrastructure.
And the market took notice.
$MET recorded more than US$200 million in trading volume in 24 hours. But there’s one detail that changes how I interpret this. DLMM Pro is still in the announcement and waitlist phase. In other words, the market is pricing in expectations for something that still needs to demonstrate operational results.
What’s more, an increase in volume doesn’t necessarily mean sustainable appreciation.
This is exactly where I separate three things:
- A strong narrative.
- A promising product.
- A possibly overextended price.
All three can happen at the same time.

Do you believe tools for organizing liquidity could become one of DeFi’s main sources of revenue?
Or are we seeing another speculative move?
