A Monitoring Tag Isn’t a Delisting, but It Brings You Closer to One

Binance announced today at 15:00 that it had added monitoring tags to $BICO and $CVC .

The announcement was blunt: these tokens “no longer meet the standards they were required to meet when listed on our platform, and may be delisted.” The review looks at factors such as the team’s commitment, trading volume and liquidity, and changes in token supply.

In the hour after the announcement, CVC’s Binance spot trading volume was about $1.06 million, compared with just $10,000 to $40,000 per hour before. Its price fell from 0.0257 to 0.0248. BICO saw about $680,000 in volume over the same hour. It’s now at 0.0192, down around 3.8% over 24 hours.

“May be delisted” doesn’t mean a token definitely will be delisted. Binance conducts regular reviews and can also remove monitoring tags. The concern is that both tokens had only about $2 million in 24-hour trading volume, meaning liquidity was already thin.

That same day, Binance Alpha also announced the removal of 14 tokens. Are you holding any of the tokens named? Let us know in the comments.
