“Will Binance AI personalize things based on my holdings and trading habits? Could this data be used to train models? Can I turn that off myself?”

That was the question audience member “Brother Niao” asked during the Chinese-language AMA at Binance’s smart products launch on October 6. He asked it twice, because the part everyone was really worried about was the second half.

Yi He split the question into two parts on the spot.

First, the part that doesn’t involve funds. Some people were concerned that the platform might offer different services based on account size or VIP level. Her answer was that there would be no preferential treatment. Binance AI is more about content distribution: recommending content based on your behavioral preferences. In her words, “We may not delve into such detailed information in user data, but it’s more like information used to categorize users.”

What about training? She made no firm promise, saying, “At the moment, we may not be mining user data that deeply.” As for requests like “being able to turn it off ourselves,” she said she’d make a note of them and consider them.

The second half is the key. AI Pro is a different matter: it can act on trades and funds, and, according to Yi He, it requires authorization. “There will definitely be a difference between AI Pro users and AI users.”

In practice, don’t expect a one-click switch to turn off personalization for now. What you can control is the scope of authorization: don’t grant permissions you don’t need. For automated strategy execution, the official position is that each strategy gets its own sub-account, keeping its funds separate from the main account. That switch is more practical than anything else.
