The same market, three instruments, and two figures that seem to contradict each other: the aggregated Radar P2P indicator reports a spread of 9.16% for USDT/VES, while the live order book —180 ads, 29 buy offers, and 26 sell offers— reports 0.43%. It is not a calculation error. They are two methodologies measuring different things, and confusing them leads to rushed decisions.

The screenshot is from October 9, 2026, 08:00 UTC. The BCV rate is 875.65 Bs, the parallel-market dollar rate is 1,016.69 Bs, and the P2P premium over the BCV rate is 21.03%. The market traffic light is yellow, with a score of 65 and a moderate-caution label.

📊 Three instruments, one market

The aggregate indicator is built using two reference prices: a buy price of 1,059.84 Bs and a sell price of 970.87 Bs. The difference is 88.96 Bs, equivalent to 9.16%. That figure summarizes the range of published listings, without filtering by bank, exchange, or available amount.

The order book does the opposite: it compares only the best bid with the best ask at the same time. In the screenshot, the best sell offer is 1,019.99 Bs and the best buy offer is 1,015.67 Bs. The midpoint is 1,017.83 Bs and the spread is 4.32 Bs, or 0.43%.

The third instrument is the bank-by-bank averages, and that’s where the nuances emerge. Banesco averages 1,041.50 Bs for buys and 1,004.20 Bs for sells, with a 3.71% spread across 29 listings. Banco de Venezuela averages 1,021.03 and 1,012.13 Bs, with a 0.88% spread across 22 listings. BANK comes in at 0.92%, and Mercantil, with just 6 listings, at 1.00%.

📈 What each figure measures

Instrument Price reference Spread

P2P Radar (aggregate) 1,059.84 Bs / 970.87 Bs 9.16%

Order book 1,019.99 Bs / 1,015.67 Bs 0.43%

Parallel-market dollar 1,014.85 Bs / 1,018.54 Bs 0.36%

The key takeaway: 9.16% measures the market’s total range; 0.43% measures the immediate cost of trading against the best visible orders. Neither is “the” price of the dollar in Venezuela. They are different gauges, and the second is much closer to the price at which a small or medium-sized transaction can be completed.

One figure reinforces the difference: the order book depth shows 196,661.54 USDT in buy offers versus 82,612.33 USDT in sell offers, a 40.84% imbalance toward the buy side.

🔎 The Pago Móvil case: when an average is misleading

Pago Móvil has 31 listings and an average buy price of 1,207.80 Bs, while its average sell price is 998.27 Bs. That makes for a 209.53 Bs gap and a 20.99% spread. It is the most visible outlier on the dashboard.

Why is it an outlier? Because 1,207.80 Bs is almost 16% above Banesco’s average and 18.3% above Banco de Venezuela’s average, two of the banks with the most listings. And because Pago Móvil’s sell price, 998.27 Bs, is the lowest in the entire sample. The figure comes from combining a high extreme with a low extreme, not from a market where you can trade in both directions at the same time.

There’s another methodological detail: the dashboard lists “Pago Móvil” with 31 listings and “PagoMovil” with 4 as separate entries. When the same label is split into two, the bank average becomes less precise. This is exactly the kind of noise that inflates a spread without any real market friction.

💰 Binance vs. other platforms: the 7.92% gap

The opportunities feed reports Binance at around 1,012.08 Bs and other platforms near 1,092.23 Bs, a difference of 7.92%. The warning is high severity, and for good reason: if a gap like that were exploitable, it wouldn’t last long.

But the visible order book puts that figure in context. The other-platform levels shown in the screenshot range from 1,021 Bs to 1,046.90 Bs, with small sizes (420.26 USDT; 151.12 USDT; 129.39 USDT; 500 USDT). There are no other-platform levels above 1,046.90 Bs in the order book shown, so the 1,092.23 Bs figure likely comes from another filter or another set of listings outside the top levels.
