XRP ETFs hold $1.7 billion. Why has the money stopped flowing in?

Look at these two sets of figures side by side. Holdings: As of the close on October 6, the five U.S. spot XRP ETFs held a total of about $1.7 billion, equivalent to roughly 1.13 billion tokens $XRP . Inflows: Net inflows over the past week were only about $3.9 million; over the past month, they were $112 million.

The breakdown makes it even clearer. On October 6, Bitwise saw inflows of about $11 million, Franklin had outflows of about $4.1 million, Canary had outflows of about $3.3 million, and Grayscale and 21Shares saw no change. New money is basically being carried by one fund.

I pay more attention to the inflow figures. Holdings only show that people who bought earlier haven’t left; prices need fresh buying. Also, 24-hour futures trading volume on October 7 was about $3.97 billion, nearly five times spot volume, so leverage is the main driver in the short term.

I’d only consider adding $XRP if weekly inflows returned to the tens-of-millions-of-dollars range for two consecutive weeks, and more than just Bitwise was seeing inflows.
