You received the money, freed… and 25 minutes later the bank made an adjustment?
In P2P we usually talk about verifying that the money shows up in the account before releasing. But there’s a second question:
What exactly does “received” mean to your bank?
📌 Scenario:
14:10 → +500,000 CLP appears in transactions
14:12 → you check and release the order
14:35 → a bank adjustment/reversal appears for -500,000 CLP
This doesn’t mean it happens with all transfers, nor that a credited transfer is normally reversible. It depends on the bank, the payment system, and the type of transaction.
The operational lesson is to know how your bank settles.
Before releasing, review:
✅ the real status of the transaction
✅ available balance
✅ bank reference
✅ whether it shows as pending/processed/credited
✅ the usual behavior of that type of transfer
And if later there is a reversal or adjustment, immediately save the order, reference, statement line, and timeline.
💡 “I see it in transactions” and “the bank considers it definitely settled” don’t always describe exactly the same thing.
⁉️ Merchants: Do they know what kinds of transfers from their banks can end up pending, adjusted, or returned after?
