Evernorth Delays Listing; Shell Stock Gets Cut in Half First
XRP treasury company Evernorth filed an 8-K: the merger closing has been pushed from October 7 to the 9th, and XRPN’s start of official trading on Nasdaq has been pushed from the 8th to the 12th—four days later. The company cited administrative reasons and said the delay won’t affect completion.
The shell stock took an even harder hit. Armada II fell 50.3% in a single day on Tuesday, closing at $19.20, then rebounded about 38% by midday Wednesday. About 473 million XRP are awaiting the listing.
The coin didn’t hold up either: XRP was at 1.4166 on Binance spot, down 5.4% over 24 hours. I wrote bullishly the day before yesterday, but the 1.465 level where I’d admit I was wrong broke yesterday morning, so I took the loss.
The delay doesn’t mean the deal is off; shareholders already approved it on September 30. But the shell stock getting cut in half and then rebounding in a day is a play on the small float, not someone buying up spot XRP.
I’ll stay out for now and wait for XRPN to actually list, then see how the money moves in the first week.
