Boipeba Island, in Cairu (BA), will host Ilha Tech in October, a series of six in-person meetings about the digital economy. The program includes digital wallets, Web3, and stablecoins (cryptocurrencies pegged to a fiat currency, such as the U.S. dollar).

The initiative is organized by Instituto Vivá, in partnership with Delas On, according to a statement released this Wednesday (7). The audience is made up of small business owners in a tourism-driven economy, who will learn about dollar-denominated assets in a market recently regulated by the Central Bank.

Of the six sessions, four are aimed at women, one at young people, and one at local merchants and entrepreneurs. The program starts from scratch: it is designed for people with no prior knowledge of technology.

The women’s track connects digital identity, wallets, payments, and entrepreneurship. It also introduces Web3 concepts through potential uses in local community businesses.
