What’s next for the BIST 100?
My expectation is that as long as the 11,900 support level holds, my short-term target is 12,900.
But that area is one where sellers are strong, so I think the rally will be limited there and a pullback will follow.
If the index closes below 11,900, we can expect a pullback toward the 11,600 area I mentioned earlier.
Last week, when the index was around 12,400, we said it would “find support at 11,900.” On Wednesday, it dipped to 11,926 during the day, buyers stepped in there, and yesterday it closed at 12,443.
Our analysis played out. The main reason for the buying is that annual inflation fell to 29.73%. For the first time in 57 months, we’re below 30%. Most of the 17 institutions also expect a 100-basis-point cut to the 37% policy rate on October 22.
