Tonight’s rankings look lively, but it’s mostly smoke and mirrors. The top two gainers both spiked and then pulled back, while the biggest loser is pinned to the floor with no buyers stepping in. This is a classic one-wave hot-sector rally, and chasing prices here will probably leave you holding the bag.

$NMR is indeed up 36%, with $437.8M in trading volume and a 50.96% range. Real money was clearly behind the earlier push. But the price is now back at 71% of its 24-hour range, down 1.47% over the past hour and 3.49% over the past four hours. Volume has shrunk to 0.81 times its average. The rally is over for now; the price is pulling back on declining volume, and short-term momentum is fading.

$GTC has genuinely huge volume: over the past hour, trading volume hit four times its average. But that fourfold volume came with a 4.53% drop. It had just climbed 8.31% over four hours before getting slammed back down, and the price is still near the top of its range at 74%. Heavy volume on a high-level selloff means real selling pressure. This isn’t a low-volume bounce—it’s an intense battle between bulls and bears at elevated prices, with buyers unable to absorb the selling.

$AIN is down 21.92%, with the price sitting at just 6% of its range. This move has basically been sold into the ground. The 1.62% gain over the past hour might look like a bottom, but volume is only 0.6 times its average. No one is following through on this kind of bounce. After the selloff, buying support is extremely weak—it’s a slow bleed with no buyers stepping in. Don’t be fooled by that one-hour green candle.

Looking at the market overall, price and volume are out of sync: the gainers are pulling back on lower volume, while the losers are bouncing weakly on lower volume. I’m not chasing this setup. I’m waiting for price and volume to start moving together again—either a high-volume push that holds its gains, or for this low-volume standoff to run its course and resolve itself. Until volume picks up, I’m just watching and staying put.
