48% of Ethereum’s share was “stolen” by BNB Chain.
In January, Ethereum accounted for 48% of the tokenized stocks sector, Solana 31%, and BNB Chain just 13%.
Nine months later, BNB Chain became the first blockchain in the industry to surpass $1 billion in tokenized stocks and ETFs.
According to Token Terminal data cited by Cointelegraph (October 2):
• BNB Chain: approximately $1.1 billion, accounting for 30% of the industry
• Ethereum: approximately $828 million, accounting for 22%
• Solana: approximately $738 million, accounting for 20%
• The entire sector grew from $719 million in January to $3.7 billion, more than fivefold
• 1.8 million addresses on BNB Chain hold tokenized stocks, accounting for 45% of the total (Binance Research)
What’s going on? Tokenized U.S. stocks are one of this year’s most compelling narratives. Binance’s bStocks and Ondo Global Markets are both bringing more products to BNB Chain. The choice of blockchain is practical: low gas fees, a large user base, and direct referrals from exchanges. The RWA sector is turning into a “the strongest ecosystem gets the spoils” game, and this time Ethereum really has been pushed out of the way. For $BNB , the stronger the RWA narrative gets, the more compelling its utility case becomes—but this is fundamental information, not a reason to chase the price.
