$BTC keeps moving sideways, but actual liquidity is what’s worth watching 🤓. Don’t let 24-hour volume fool you. The order book is what tells the truth.
BTC has nearly $1.38 billion in 24-hour volume, and a $1M order slips just 0.016%—that figure points to stable liquidity, making it easier for big players to enter positions. ETH, however, has $984.6 million in volume, and a $1M order slips 0.026%. More notably, SOL has $222.4 million in volume, with a $1M order slipping as much as 0.085%, while ZEC has $166.7 million in volume, and a $1M order slips a whopping 0.252%. Clearly, high volume doesn’t necessarily mean the order book is deep enough for large orders 📐. Many altcoins have volumes of tens of millions of dollars, yet a $100k order can slip 1–2%, while a $1M order wipes out the entire order book. Hidden costs from spreads and slippage can kill a trader’s account faster than holding onto a losing position.
To protect your capital, always check the order book and use Limit orders instead of Market orders. Avoid Market orders for large trades so you don’t get hammered by slippage 😏.
Are you still picking up spot, or waiting for a level to Short? Where will $BTC go from here? 👀
