Today’s market mood, in two words: lackluster. There’s only one item on this 24-hour list worth taking a closer look at: $GRIFFAIN . Its +25.09% gain sounds impressive, but with a 54.86% range, the current price is only at 46% of that range. It’s already fallen back more than halfway from the day’s high—the surge that pushed it up has mostly receded like a tide pulling back from shore.
Put simply, this looks more like a low-volume bounce: it’s still down 3.54% over the past 4 hours, and it hasn’t been long since the drop. The modest +2.31% rebound over the past hour came on volume of just 0.49 times the 24-hour average—less than half. It’s like vendors hawking their wares as the market is closing: the sellers are still calling out, but the shoppers have already gone. The 24-hour trading volume of 62.8M shows there was genuine buying and selling, but the volume coming in now clearly isn’t enough to keep things going.
With a setup like this, I’d rather pull up a chair and watch for now. I’ll take another look if hourly volume returns to around its average and the price gets back into the upper half of its range. If it keeps drifting along on half-volume, I’ll let it drift without trying to guess what comes next. When you have no cards at the table, not betting is a strategy too.
