BTC is down 1.8%, yet more people are talking about it than yesterday.
I just pulled today’s social buzz rankings on BSC. The top three are BTC, ETH, and XRP, with buzz figures of 8.76 million, 2.39 million, and 1.73 million, respectively. All three are down, by 1.81%, 2.98%, and 2.28%.
There’s an old pattern here: when prices rise, people are busy trading; when they fall, people finally have time to talk. The buzz ranking is a list of “what people are discussing,” and it often runs counter to “what people are buying.”
At the same time, I checked the smart money net inflow rankings, and the picture was completely different. Five of the top six had market caps below $10 million, and even the largest was only $290 million. Money is crowding into smaller pools, while the buzz is still focused on the big coins.
The interesting part is putting the two rankings side by side. One shows sentiment; the other shows action.
I have just one rule for using them: I use the buzz ranking only to judge “what the market is talking about today,” never to decide what to buy. To see where the money is really going, look at inflows.
The data comes from the on-chain rankings API in Binance’s official skills, captured this morning.
