The reading on October 6, 2026, at 16:00 UTC (12:00 noon in Caracas) presents an uncomfortable picture for anyone looking only at the headline: Radar P2P’s aggregate rate board reports a spread of 24.82 bolivars on USDT/VES, or 2.56%, comparing its buy price (996.02 Bs) with its sell price (971.20 Bs). The order book, captured about 30 seconds earlier, tells a different story: the best ask is 993.00 Bs and the best bid is 992.24 Bs, a difference of 0.76 bolivars, equivalent to 0.08%.
There is no calculation error in either source. They measure two different things: one is the gap between aggregated reference prices; the other is the gap currently in the order book between the cheapest ask and the highest bid.
📊 Why the dashboard shows 24.82 Bs while the order book shows just 0.76 Bs
The aggregate figure and the executable figure measure different universes:
• Aggregate spread (2.56%): compares the best buy price detected by the radar (996.02 Bs) with the best sell price (971.20 Bs). These are reference prices taken from sources and platforms that do not necessarily share a counterparty or payment method.
• Order book spread (0.08%): measures the distance between the cheapest ask and the highest bid in the Binance and other platforms’ order books, based on specific ads, verifiable limits, and amounts. The mid price is 992.62 Bs.
The critical point: that aggregated sell price of 971.20 Bs is 21.04 Bs below the order book’s best bid (992.24 Bs). In practice, anyone selling at the price suggested by the dashboard will not find that counterparty in the first levels of the analyzed order book. The 24.82 Bs figure describes a gap between reference prices; the 0.76 Bs figure describes the current gap between a buyer and seller willing to trade.
📈 Real order book levels: Banesco, Pago Móvil, Mercantil, and Banco de Venezuela
USDT sell side (where the user buys), ordered by price: the first level is at 993.00 Bs, with 2 offers and 5,405.72 USDT available, limits between 10.65 and 5,299.19 USDT, using Pago Móvil, Banesco, and BANK. Next are 993.30 Bs (1,227.29 USDT, Banco de Venezuela) and 993.50 Bs (5,545.14 USDT, with a 3,000 limit). The largest block is concentrated at 994.00 Bs: 9 offers and 25,227.31 USDT, with limits from 5 to 6,591.96 USDT. Mercantil appears at 994.39 Bs with 1,391.82 USDT (limits 139.18–1,391.82), and in the 994.40 Bs block alongside BANK and Banco de Venezuela, with 39,202.54 USDT across 3 offers.
On the USDT buy side (where the user sells), Banesco has an almost complete monopoly at the top: 992.24 Bs with 7,377.76 USDT (limits 737.78–7,377.76), followed by 992.01 Bs with 4,844.06 USDT and 991.60 Bs with 20,000 USDT, also from Banesco. Further down, there is significant depth: 990.50 Bs with 46,235.47 USDT on Provincial, BBVABank, and Banesco, and 990.40 Bs with 53,859.92 USDT on Provincial and BBVABank.
The order book records 315,109.80 USDT in buy offers (31 orders) and 110,618.15 USDT in sell offers (34 orders), with a reported imbalance of 48.03% and 254 ads in total. This asymmetry explains why the USDT sell side is so tight at the top levels, while the buy side extends downward without losing liquidity.
🔎 Averages by bank: another figure that is not an executable spread
The radar’s averages by payment method show their own spreads, wider than the order book spread because they combine ads with very different prices and limits:
• Banesco: 28 ads, average USDT sell price of 994.64 Bs and buy price of 989.37 Bs; spread of 5.27 Bs (0.53%); 21.5% of liquidity and a score of 88.
• Pago Móvil: 35 ads, 994.21 Bs and 986.78 Bs; spread of 7.43 Bs (0.75%); 26.9% of liquidity and a score of 88.
• Other method: 23 ads, 995.25 Bs and 985.72 Bs; spread of 9.53 Bs (0.97%); score of 70.
• Banco de Venezuela: 9 ads, average buy price of 993.89 Bs, with no average sell price recorded; 6.9% of liquidity and a score of 53.
• BANK: 8 ads, buy price of 993.35 Bs; 6.2% of liquidity. Provincial (7 ads) and BBVABank (6) report only an average sell price, at 990.63 and 990.62 Bs respectively.
