ETH has been moving sideways for about two weeks since it first broke above 2,800, held back by the middle band of the 45-day Bollinger Bands (2,782). That’s why it has yet to break above 2,800 again. 2,636 has become strong support; as long as it holds, the outlook isn’t bearish. This stretch may have made many people a little impatient, but before every accelerated rally, there’s usually a period of sideways shakeout—and once that’s over, the price takes off. Many people like to trade short-term longs and shorts back and forth during the 2–3 weeks of consolidation in an uptrend, only to miss the big bullish candle when the rally accelerates. That’s what happens when you don’t have enough patience. When volatility is low, just hold patiently rather than making frequent changes.
