Nasdaq hits a new high, but BTC doesn’t follow. The easiest mistake to make today: “Nasdaq is hitting records, so BTC will catch up sooner or later.”
The Nasdaq rose about 1% overnight, setting a new closing record; Nvidia’s premarket market cap had reached about $5.8 trillion. Oil prices fell back below $100, and long-term bond yields eased slightly from their highs, finally giving risk assets some breathing room.
But BTC is still hovering around $85,300, down about 0.6% instead.
It’s not that the market has no appetite for risk; it’s that money is being selective. AI giants have earnings and profit expectations to support them, while BTC still hasn’t shown evidence that spot buying is returning.
So don’t automatically translate a Nasdaq record into a crypto bull market. Risk-on is very narrow right now, and even a little biased. For BTC to turn stronger, it will ultimately have to push the elevator button itself.
