VELO and Retail Payments
Strategic partnership with Zebec to launch a debit card linked to its PayFi settlement layer, enabling direct payments with USDT and USDC.
This partnership represents Velo’s most concrete move yet to bring its settlement infrastructure to everyday spending in the real world:
Private-label issuance: $VELO Protocol selected Zebec Network as its exclusive card partner to launch a debit solution backed by its ecosystem.
PayFi-to-Mastercard bridge: Directly connects Velo’s PayFi settlement layer to Mastercard’s global merchant network through Zebec’s card-issuing technology.
Multichain operations: Lets users fund the card and spend $USDT or $USDC from networks such as BNB Smart Chain, Ethereum, and TRON, converting the balance into local currencies directly at the point of sale or for online purchases.
Utility evolution: Shifts from a protocol focused almost exclusively on B2B corporate remittances (backed by the Asian CP Group on Stellar) to a retail payment gateway seeking to capture continuous transaction volume.
