According to the Planet Daily, the modular authentication layer Automata Network extends machine trust to Ethereum, using Microsoft Azure's confidential computing products to bring hardware-enforced trust to the blockchain. Microsoft Azure authentication allows remote authentication of trusted execution environments (TEEs) such as Intel® Software Guard Extensions (Intel SGX). This process verifies that software binaries run in a confidential manner on trusted hardware platforms, which forms the basis of confidential computing.

Automata Network has developed several real-world applications supported by fully authenticated confidential enclaves. These include 1RPC, a Web3 relay with more than 3.5 million monthly active users, and Proof of Machinehood, a framework for proving the authenticity of machines on the chain. In addition, Automata Network has developed a private chatbot using Microsoft's Azure AI capabilities, including Azure OpenAI services.
