The first thing I felt when I opened the app this morning: all the money was chasing one hot spot, while everywhere else was dead quiet. $RLC had more than doubled and shot straight to the top of the gainers list, but nothing else could keep up. The coin that was falling wasn’t attracting much interest either. Overall, it feels like one corner is buzzing while most of the market is sitting on the sidelines.

First, the gainers. There’s real volume driving this move in $RLC : over 560M in 24-hour trading volume, it has already doubled, and it’s up nearly 5% in the past hour. Volume hasn’t let up at all, and the price is sitting near the top of its daily range at 86%. Buyers haven’t taken a break—short-term money is flowing in for real. But its daily range is over 115%, with wild swings all over the place. It’s a real roller coaster, and if you’re a split second too slow, you could easily get burned. $MOVR is a different story. It’s still up more than 17% on the day, but it’s only halfway up its range, and it’s dipped slightly in the past hour. Its volume is down to around 35% of its daily average. Put simply, the excitement from that spike has faded, and now it’s moving sideways on shrinking volume. If you chase it at this point, you could easily end up buying near the top.

Now for the decliners. $US is down more than 20%, with the price hugging the daily low. It’s barely moved in the past hour, and volume is only a third of its average. That suggests the panic selling has already happened, and now no one wants to step in and buy. The occasional bounce is just a low-volume fake-out. This kind of slow bleed is the most exhausting—anyone holding it will know the feeling.

Personally, I’m inclined to wait and see. When one coin is the only one heating up and everything else is drying up, the biggest risk is that the hot spot suddenly goes cold and the whole market cools off as the money pulls out. There are really just two signals I’m waiting for: first, whether volume in the coin that doubled can hold up—so the price doesn’t stay up while volume disappears; and second, when the falling coin starts seeing sustained volume and real buyers step in. Until volume picks up, let’s keep our hands off the trigger and watch more, act less. There are new market opportunities every day, but we only have one pot of principal.
