Who’s using Binance to trade U.S. stocks? One August figure left me stunned.
Binance has launched physically settled options on 1,000+ U.S. stocks and ETFs: exercise delivers actual shares, not a cash settlement. Retail traders can buy calls or puts, with the premium paid being the maximum possible loss. The service operates through Abu Dhabi-licensed broker Nest Trading, while clearing, settlement, and custody are handled by U.S.-registered Alpaca Securities. Fees are primarily settled in USDC, with BNB and USDT also supported.
But the numbers are what’s really staggering: Binance TradFi perpetuals recorded about $433.4 billion in trading volume in August, 15 times January’s $29.5 billion. Stock perpetuals accounted for about $342.9 billion, or 79% of total TradFi volume—more than 800 times January’s $410.9 million.
Here’s how I see it: crypto exchanges are moving in on traditional brokerages by turning the tables. Crypto’s 24/7 liquidity and seamless trading experience have become new weapons for attracting U.S. stock traders. Even more interesting is the closed-loop ecosystem: U.S. stocks, ETFs, tokenized securities called bStocks, stock perpetuals, and U.S. stock options—all in one Binance account. When one exchange captures traffic from both crypto and TradFi, $BNB gets another piece of the puzzle. The wall between U.S. stocks and crypto is being broken through by a single exchange.
If one account let you buy both BTC and Nvidia call options, would you consider it?
