On-chain stock trading reaches 4.4B, but SOL hasn’t moved
On Solana, tokenized stocks saw trading volume of over $4.4B in September, setting a new high. The most aggressive is Raydium: it did about $2.8B in a month, while August was only around $0.5B—more than five times August. The total on-chain market size for these stocks is only about $684M, equivalent to more than 6x monthly turnover.
But the SOL price has barely reacted. Binance spot is around 121, up only 0.6% in the last 24 hours, and over the past ten days it’s been oscillating within a range of 116 to 125.
My take is that the activity is genuinely rising: in the cumulative trading through August, about 63% occurred during U.S. stock market closed hours, which suggests someone is trading for around-the-clock liquidity. However, the volume is turnover—not fresh money flowing in. Whether the coin price moves still depends on whether this October hot streak can continue.
I’ll hold my spot first and not chase. I’ll decide whether to add once the October data comes out.
