As of October 5, 2026 (00:00 UTC), the Venezuelan P2P market shows USDT at Bs. 978.21 on the buy side and Bs. 948.31 on the sell side, with the official BCV dollar at Bs. 871.37. From these three figures, two metrics are often read as if they were the same thing: the 12.26% premium versus BCV and the 3.15% operating spread. They are not. One measures distance with the official rate; the other measures the cost of entering and exiting.

Comparing this with the order book, the P2P traffic light in yellow (score 71, “Moderate caution”), and the bank-specific spread shows where value is lost on a round trip and which payment methods offer better conditions. This text is analytical: it does not recommend buying or selling.

📊 Premium and spread: two figures, two different questions

• Premium over the BCV: (978.21 − 871.37) ÷ 871.37 = 12.26%. This answers how far the P2P USDT rate is from the official rate. It measures the gap, not a transaction cost.

• Buy/sell spread: 978.21 − 948.31 = Bs. 29.90 per USDT, equivalent to 3.15% measured against the sale price and 3.06% measured against the purchase price.

Fact: both figures come from the same Radar P2P snapshot. Calculation: each uses a different base. Interpretation: the premium is useful for comparing P2P with the BCV; the spread is useful for estimating the cost of a complete round trip. For comparison, P2P USDT (Bs. 978.21) is 0.36% above the parallel-market reference (Bs. 974.69), and the parallel dollar has its own spread of 0.26%.

📈 What that 3.15% means in bolívares

A simple example using prices from the snapshot: buying 100 USDT at Bs. 978.21 costs Bs. 97,820.55. Selling those same 100 USDT at Bs. 948.31 yields Bs. 94,830.90. The difference is Bs. 2,989.65, exactly 3.06% of the initial capital. Conversely, Bs. 1,000,000 at the sale price is equivalent to 1,054.51 USDT.

That spread is friction: it only applies if you make a round trip. Someone who buys and holds does not pay the full spread immediately; someone who buys and sells in the same snapshot does. That is why the spread is the figure that matters when measuring operating costs, while the premium matters when measuring the exchange-rate gap.

🔎 Order book: 291,397 USDT in buy orders versus 148,204 USDT in sell orders

The order book’s aggregate depth favors buyers: 291,397.30 USDT versus 148,203.92 USDT, an imbalance of 32.57% (a ratio of about 1.97 to 1). The order count goes the other way: 24 buy offers versus 32 sell offers, although the buy offers account for more volume.

The largest levels are also on the buy side: there is a 37,379.96 USDT bid at Bs. 973.26 and another for 136,700.74 USDT at Bs. 969.60. On the sell side, the largest blocks are 35,603.38 USDT at Bs. 975.95 and 28,894.94 USDT at Bs. 974.95. Liquidity is spread across Binance and other platforms, with Banesco and Pago Móvil as the dominant payment methods at the top levels.

Methodological note: the live order book’s top levels show a best ask at Bs. 974.00 and a best bid at Bs. 973.26, a spread of just Bs. 0.74 (0.08%). The sale reference of Bs. 948.31 does not appear among the published bid levels, which do not go below Bs. 968.28. In other words, the aggregate reference and the order book show very different spreads, and that difference should be stated before drawing conclusions. Additionally, Binance reports its best buy at Bs. 974.51 and its best sell at Bs. 973.80 among its top ten offers.
