
The digital rouble has just reached a new milestone in Russia. For the first time, some employees of the Ministry of Finance have received their salary directly in the bank’s central digital currency. The program remains voluntary, and Moscow has not revealed either the number of participants or the total amount paid. After the pilot payments and the nationwide rollout, Russia’s CBDC is now entering the payroll records.
