NEAR Intents said it has recovered about $3.8 million stolen during a security breach that occurred on Thursday.
Cointelegraph reported on Friday that NEAR Intents had identified the person responsible for the security breach and had given them 48 hours to return the funds under a “responsible disclosure.”
NEAR Intents’ CEO, Alex Shevchenko, later announced on Friday that the funds had been fully returned.
“The $3.8 million hacking funds from NEAR Intents have been returned in full,” Shevchenko wrote on X. “We’re ending the investigation. Please use bug bounty programs instead of interrupting services.”

As Cointelegraph reported, NEAR Intents paused its services after detecting an «interaction error between Omni’s deposits and withdrawals infrastructure and the NEAR Intents smart contract».
NEAR’s preliminary investigation determined that $3.8 million in user funds was stolen, and the company pledged to fully compensate affected users.
Blockchain investigator ZachXBT said the funds from the incident were transferred to the KuC©1n exchange and bridged to Bitcoin.
