BlockBeats message, October 3: Greek police dismantled an encrypted investment fraud ring and arrested 17 people, including 9 servicemembers. Preliminary investigation by the police shows that about 10,000 people participated in the investment, with an average of about €800 invested per person. The estimated amount involved exceeds €8 million.

The group operated by using headhunting to generate higher returns, with clear “pyramid” characteristics. In addition, the group recently also froze the withdrawal function and claimed that if investors double their principal, they could receive double the refund after 50 days. The police have currently seized about €280,000, and the investigation is ongoing.
