$ETH Ethereum privacy just got another option.

Aztec Labs is bringing back zk.money after three years, giving users a way to make payments on the Aztec Network without publicly exposing balances, payment amounts or recipients.

Users can deposit DAI, USDC or USDT from Ethereum, with USDC and USDT converted into DAI inside the system. Payments can then be sent using readable names like bob.zk.money or simple payment links instead of long wallet addresses.

The important catch: Ethereum deposits are still visible. The sender and amount can be traced on-chain, while activity after moving funds onto Aztec can remain private.

The relaunch also comes with limits. Deposits, payments and withdrawals must stay below $2,500, while the shared daily deposit allowance is $50,000.

zk.money is self-custodial, but it also uses address screening and a sealed server for certain operations.

The original zk.money launched in 2021, serving more than 75,000 wallets and processing over $100M before shutting down in 2024.

Now it’s back — and Ethereum privacy is clearly becoming a bigger conversation.
