🔥 BITCOIN TOUCHED $87,300 AND REVERSED: IS THE RALLY OVER OR JUST A PAUSE?

Bitcoin tried to break the $87,300 resistance level this week, but it didn’t manage it. The price reached that level, encountered a wall of sell orders, and quickly reversed. For many traders, that reaction is a warning sign. For others, it’s simply a pause within a broader bullish trend.

I’m bullish long-term, but what happened at $87,300 deserves a serious analysis. Not all rejections are the same, and understanding why the market sold at that level is more important than guessing the next move.

👇 Do you think Bitcoin will break $87,300, or will we stay range-bound? I’m reading your comments.

📌 WHAT EXACTLY HAPPENED AT $87,300

Bitcoin’s price rose to touch $87,300 and met significant resistance. That level lines up with an area where the market had rejected the price previously, making it a strong technical resistance.

The data we know:

- Bitcoin comes from a rally that took it from lows near $70,000 up to $87,300.

- The Fear and Greed Index remains in the "greed" zone (above 60), indicating the market is optimistic.

- Flows into Bitcoin ETFs remain positive, but the pace has slowed over the last few days.

What we don’t know for sure:

- If the rejection was due to institutional selling, traders taking profits, or simply a lack of buyers at that level.

- If the market is waiting for a macro catalyst to define the direction.

📌 KEY LEVELS TO WATCH

Immediate resistance: $87,300

If Bitcoin manages to close a daily candle above this level, the door opens toward $92,000 and possibly $95,000.

Immediate support: $80,000

If price loses this level, the next important support is in the $75,000-$76,000 zone. Losing that range would change the short-term outlook.

Critical support: $70,000

As long as Bitcoin stays above $70,000, the medium-term bullish structure remains intact. A drop below that level would be a significant weakness signal.

📌 WHY THE REJECTION ISN’T NECESSARILY BAD

A rejection at resistance is not a death sentence. In fact, in many bullish cycles, the first attempts to break a resistance fail; price consolidates and then breaks with more force.

What we need to see to confirm a breakout:

- Increasing volume: A breakout with low volume is often false.

- Close above the level: It’s not enough to just touch $87,300; you need to close above it.

- Successful retest: After breaking, the price usually comes back to test the level as support. If it holds, the breakout is valid.

📌 THE MACRO CONTEXT: WHAT CAN MOVE PRICE

Bitcoin doesn’t move in a vacuum. These are the factors that could define the next direction:

1. Expectations regarding the Federal Reserve

Markets remain focused on the Fed’s signals regarding possible rate cuts. Any indication of a looser monetary policy would be a tailwind for Bitcoin.

2. Institutional flows

Spot Bitcoin ETFs continue to attract capital, but the pace has slowed. If flows accelerate again, we could see a new attempt to break $87,300.

3. Bitcoin Dominance

BTC dominance has remained relatively stable, suggesting capital is not rotating aggressively into altcoins. If dominance falls, it could be a sign the market is entering a phase with greater appetite for risk.

📌 WHAT TO DO IN THIS CONTEXT?

If you’re a long-term investor:

Don’t obsess over short-term moves. The rejection at $87,300 doesn’t change the long-term thesis. If your plan is to accumulate, pullbacks are opportunities, not threats.

If you’re a trader:

Define your entry and exit levels before trading. Use a stop-loss. Don’t let FOMO take over if the price breaks $87,300, and don’t panic if it drops to $80,000.

If you’re new:

This is a good time to observe and learn. Rejections at resistance are a normal part of the market. You don’t need to trade every move.

📌 CONCLUSION

Bitcoin was rejected at $87,300, but that doesn’t mean the rally is over. The market is in a decision zone, and the coming days will be key in determining whether we remain in range or a new bullish impulse comes.

I’m bullish long-term, but with eyes open. The $80,000 and $70,000 levels define the structure. As long as they hold, the medium-term trend remains constructive. If they’re lost, it will be time to reassess.

What matters isn’t guessing the next move. It’s having a plan for every scenario.

Hey! I get it: that rejection at 87,300 draws attention, but by itself it doesn’t “kill” the rally; many times it’s just a pause to consolidate. With the current BTC price near 83,222 USDT (−0.85% in 24h, data 2026-09-29 16:34 UTC), the key point for me is what happens between 80,000 and 87,300: if it reclaims 87,300 and achieves sustained daily closes above with volume, the bullish scenario gains strength; if it decisively loses 80,000, the probability increases of visiting 75k–76k, and that’s where it’s decided whether it was just a correction or a momentum change. In this context, the healthiest approach is to have a plan for scenarios (breaks/fails/range) and not chase candles out of FOMO. This is not financial advice; DYOR.
