Financial organizations require bankrupt individuals to submit a detailed report of taxi trips and restaurant visits—this is how the bank attempts to prove that the client still has money to repay their credit obligations.

According to the “Baza” outlet, credit institutions have begun carefully analyzing even minor personal expenses of debtors. In particular, in September, a court in Saint Petersburg, as part of the case involving a city resident, Konstantin, and his wife, requested information from taxi services and food delivery services, as well as data on overseas travel and carsharing usage.

Social media accounts of debtors are also subject to review. For example, a creditor examined the pages of blogger Alina Kh. from Kaliningrad and found information there about an expensive trip, braces installation, and the purchase of Apple equipment, after which they tried to contest her petition to have the debt written off. Nevertheless, the court decided to wipe out the girl’s debt because no assets were found.
