USDT in Venezuelan P2P trading closed the day with a reference rate of Bs. 970.41 on the buy side and Bs. 947.54 on the sell side, according to the P2P Radar screenshot from September 27, 2026 at 22:00 UTC. Versus the BCV rate, set at Bs. 857.01, that high end implies a premium of 13.23%. The spread between the two ends is Bs. 22.87, i.e., 2.41%.
That’s the headline. The problem is that this headline is calculated with two aggregated prices that don’t match what a user finds when they open the book and hit buy or sell. That’s where the market becomes more interesting—and much less comfortable.
📊 The figure: 13.23% premium and a 2.41% spread
Three references coexist today in the Venezuelan market:
• USDT P2P: Bs. 970.41 (buy) and Bs. 947.54 (sell). Spread of Bs. 22.87 (2.41%).
• BCV Dollar: Bs. 857.01, with no change in the snapshot.
• Parallel Dollar (Binance P2P): Bs. 966.09, with a spread of only 0.15% between Bs. 966.79 and Bs. 965.38.
The 13.23% premium is measured against the BCV, not against the parallel rate. Against the latter, the gap drops to almost zero: Bs. 970.41 versus Bs. 966.09 is a difference of 0.45%. That is, the official reference remains far below, while the P2P platforms trade almost stuck to each other.
📈 The order book: 505,642 USDT in bids versus 54,648 in asks
Here is the real news. The consolidated USDT/VES order book (Binance and other platforms) shows:
• Bids (buy side): 505,642.89 USDT spread across 25 levels and 34 lots.
• Asks (sell side): 54,647.66 USDT across 24 levels and 31 lots.
• Imbalance: 80.49% of the depth is on the buy side.
Translated: for every digital dollar someone is willing to sell, more than nine are waiting to buy. The best sell quote (ask) is at Bs. 966.90 and the best buy quote (bid) at Bs. 965.60, with a spread of Bs. 1.30 (0.13%) and a mid price of Bs. 966.25. That 0.13% is eight times smaller than the 2.41% yielded by the aggregated rate.
The other detail is the shape of the book. The large blocks on the buy side are not at the top level, but stepped down between Bs. 964 and Bs. 965: 80,599.61 USDT at Bs. 965.00; 65,836.59 at Bs. 964.60; 51,215.59 at Bs. 964.61; 33,495.92 at Bs. 964.70. Lower down, at Bs. 962.00, a block of 95,440.75 USDT appears associated with Pago Móvil on other platforms. The sell side is much thinner: the most loaded level barely reaches 9,364.64 USDT at Bs. 967.00.
🔎 Why the rate you see on screen is not the one you execute
An aggregated rate is a weighted average or a median of multiple offers; an execution is a specific price against a specific level, with minimum and maximum limits per counterparty. The difference looks like this:
• Buying 100 USDT at the capture selling price equals Bs. 94,753.64.
• Converting Bs. 1,000,000 at the same price yields 1,055.37 USDT.
• But the book’s best ask is at Bs. 966.90: about Bs. 3.51 below the screen buy rate (0.36%).
• And the best bid is at Bs. 965.60: about Bs. 18.06 above the display selling rate (1.87%).
That asymmetry explains the noise. The buy side moves in a very narrow band near the reference line; the sell side of the aggregated reference sinks below the order book. In practice, someone selling in a hurry may end up receiving quite a bit less than the mid, and someone buying in a hurry may pay more to take the first levels. And it has to be said: the snapshot records 279 active offers on the semaphore and 259 notices in the book, and the count of notices (99 buys and 180 sells) does not match the volume. Many sellers with small size, few buyers with large volume.
