A rival has just shut its doors. Switchboard, an Oracle network that provides pricing for multiple DeFi protocols on Solana, has halted services from 25/9 and forced projects to move their data sources. Pyth is one of the two main alternative options.
Previously, on 22/9, Pyth was selected as the data distribution unit for Nasdaq Basic.
PYTH is up +12% over the past 24 hours. But just because many protocols use Pyth doesn’t necessarily mean more people need to hold the PYTH token. And there’s still around 21% of the supply that has not yet been circulating.
An oracle eliminates a competitor — is the token really the one that benefits?
