The results are already in: after the cooperation in Dec 2024, the number of Binance USDC spot markets jumped from 140 to 329; monthly trading volume rose from $20–$40B to a sustained $80B+ 📈. By 2026, Binance is almost dominating the USDC spot market—daily trades of $5–$10B. Most others are under $0.5B; the gap is really something 😅
Now USDC’s market cap is about $74B, and USDT’s is about $140B. Analysts say this could weigh on USDT—especially in emerging markets and global trading. But USDT has deep liquidity and lots of trading pairs; everyone’s used to it, so in the short term it’s unlikely to be shaken 🤔
Circle hasn’t been idle either: it acquired Tazapay for $400M, aggressively targeting payments and emerging markets. Visa, Mastercard, and Stripe are also pushing into stablecoins.
