$BTC It’s been quiet these past few days, but actual liquidity is what’s really worth thinking about. With 24h volume at a trillion dollars, placing a $1M order only slips by 0.004%—like $BTC —or 0.017%—like ETH—then yes, that’s truly great. 📐 But when you look at Solana, XRP, or ZEC, even though their volume is also a few hundred million USD, the story is different. A $1M order for XRP can eat up to 0.225% slippage, while ZEC is 0.185% and Solana is 0.066%. 😐 That’s the hidden cost from slippage, not to mention Solana’s 0.86 bps spread or XRP’s 0.65 bps. Many altcoins have volumes in the hundreds of millions, yet with just a $100k order, slippage can be 0.012% on Solana or 0.019% on XRP. This is exactly why high 24h volume doesn’t necessarily mean smooth order entry/exit. Don’t let past numbers fool you. Before going all-in, remember to check order-book depth (/depth 1000) and use Limit orders instead of Market orders to avoid hidden fees burning your account. 🤓 If the order books for these altcoins stay paper-thin, are you guys planning to hold long-term or just scalp? 👀
