🚨 WARNING if you sell on Web3! The scam of "Payment with Fake Tokens" 🛑
- "I bought the product from you and already sent you the tokens to your Web3 Wallet! Check that they’ve arrived..."
"⚠️ BE CAREFUL! If you accept a payment like this without verifying, you’re about to be scammed."
"⚠️ THE FAKE TOKEN TRAP".
How does this trap work?
The buyer asks for your Web3 address and transfers tokens that are called EXACTLY like USDT, BUSD, or other valuable tokens. In your wallet you see the balance or a notification, and you hand over your product.
The problem comes when you try to swap them on a DEX or send them to an exchange...! The system tells you they’re WORTH NOTHING or that the contract is fake! They sent you a worthless copy they created in seconds.
Avoid losing your money by following these 2 steps:
1️⃣ Compare the Smart Contract (CA): "Don’t trust only the token name or logo. Check on CoinMarketCap or the network explorer that the contract is the official one."
2️⃣ Use secure platforms: "For sales and personal payments, use official tools like Binance Pay or P2P trading."
Don’t fall for the trap of payments with cloned or fake tokens. Scammers create coins with the same name and symbol as real tokens (like USDT) to send them to your Web3 wallet in exchange for a product or service.
