RONIN is down 12.89%; it has already switched its underlying architecture

$RONIN This drawdown occurred on a network that has already upgraded its underlying architecture. If the description is still stuck on the game sidechain, then the discussion is actually about the old version.

In this snapshot, RONIN/USDT is trading at 0.0581 USDT. Over the past 24 hours on a rolling basis, it is down 12.89%. The trading pair’s volume is approximately 1.375 million USDT. These figures reflect the trading activity right in front of us, and cannot be used to draw operational conclusions for the entire chain.

Ronin’s official announcement on May 13 stated that it has completed its migration to Ethereum. The previously determined technical roadmap was OP Stack. The “Builders” page on the official website now also describes Ronin under an Ethereum L2 architecture. What’s being discussed here is a change in network architecture, not that every game has been moved to run on Ethereum’s mainnet.

Another change concerns where rewards go. The migration-completion announcement states that the newly introduced RON emissions are redirected to Proof of Distribution. The current official site also explains this mechanism as distributing rewards to builders based on on-chain contributions. It is an attempt to link incentives to the real activity generated by applications, rather than simply continuing the network format of the past.

The architectural migration has already taken effect, but in my view, whether applications can therefore enjoy sustained usage is the next scoreboard. Using a migration announcement from a few months ago to explain today’s drop lacks direct evidence in between; declaring the pivot a failure based solely on this drawdown is also too fast. The valuable content going forward will be usage records from games and applications, rather than repeating “migration is coming” again.

After switching to Ethereum L2, do you feel the user experience has changed?
