Cutoff: September 24, 2026, 06:00 UTC. The same USDT/VES market showed two spreads at the same time: 4.97% on the P2P Radar and 0.08% at the first order book level. There is no error or contradiction: these are two layers of the same market, measured with different rules. Below we break down what each figure measures, how deep the order book really is, and how to use it before deciding.
📊 Two layers of the same market
The P2P Radar summarizes the published offer: it takes the highest buy ad and the lowest sell ad, regardless of amounts, banks, or limits. In this snapshot it showed 985,9991 Bs and 939,3323 Bs, with a spread of 46,67 Bs.
The order book sorts the same ads by price and shows the best available price right now: 967,80 Bs to buy USDT and 967,00 Bs to sell, with a midpoint of 967,40 Bs. The spread of the first level was only 0,80 Bs.
Layer Best price to buy USDT Best price to sell USDT Spread %
P2P Radar (published offer) 985,9991 Bs 939,3323 Bs 46,67 Bs 4,97%
P2P Book, first level 967,80 Bs 967,00 Bs 0,80 Bs 0,08%
Binance P2P Reference (10 ads per side) 964,00 Bs 968,18 Bs 4,18 Bs 0,43%
Binance P2P Parallel 965,24 Bs 967,96 Bs 2,72 Bs 0,28%
Calculation: the radar’s 4,97% is obtained by dividing 46,6668 by 939,3323. In other words, the percentage is calculated on the sell rate, not on the midpoint. The book’s 0,08% is calculated on the midpoint of 967,40 Bs (0,80 / 967,40). The difference between 4,97% and 0,08% is almost 60x, and part of that gap also comes from the base used for the calculation.
📈 What each number measures—and what it doesn’t
The radar spread measures dispersion of ads. It doesn’t say what it costs to execute; it tells you how far apart the extremes of what’s published are.
The book spread measures the cost to enter the first level. And only for the amount that fits there. In this snapshot, the best sell price (967,80 Bs) had 5.000 USDT in a single offer with a maximum limit of 5.000; the best buy price (967,00 Bs) had 10.000 USDT with a maximum limit of 10.000.
Calculation of accumulated depth: by summing the sell levels from 967,80 Bs upward, up to 968,99 Bs there are 25.966,24 USDT available; up to 969,40 Bs the accumulated total reaches 84.622,26 USDT. A buy of 100.000 USDT would have to sweep up to 969,70 Bs, about 0,20% above the best sell price. The 0,08% exists, but only for small orders.
Verification note: the radar’s sell rate (939,3323 Bs) falls below the lowest level recorded in this instant of the book (952,00 Bs), and the buy rate (985,9991 Bs) is above the highest level on the sell side (982,90 Bs, other platforms). The radar is capturing extremes that don’t appear in this book window—probably ads with minimum amounts, different payment methods, or different capture windows. With the available data, it’s not possible to confirm the exact cause.
🔎 The real imbalance: 372.004,83 USDT vs 127.745,04 USDT
Facts: the buy side totaled 372.004,83 USDT across 34 offers; the sell side, 127.745,04 USDT across 31 offers. Total visible: 499.749,87 USDT.
Imbalance calculation: (372.004,83 − 127.745,04) / (372.004,83 + 127.745,04) = 48,88%. In other words, the buy side is almost triple the sell side (2,91x).
Reading: the book is notably weighted toward USDT demand. Still, the sell-side supply is not scarce in absolute terms: 127.745 USDT spread across 31 offers is enough for retail operations. The problem shows up in large amounts: depth is concentrated in just a few blocks.
Methodological note: the book counted 179 total advertisements, and the opportunities module reported 196 active offers. These are different counting windows; it’s best not to mix them when comparing.
💰 The Banesco walls: 36.679,84 and 145.852,32 USDT
Two blocks dominate the buy side:
• 36.679,84 USDT at 964,50 Bs, in a single Banesco offer (Binance), with a maximum limit of 36.679,84.
