Bitcoin (BTC) - the largest digital coin in the world has broken the “curse” by ending a streak of four consecutive years of price declines in August. According to historical data, Bitcoin fell throughout August in each of the years 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025, by roughly 14%, 11.3%, 8.7%, and 6.5%, respectively. This prolonged losing streak has made August a notable weak spot in BTC’s seasonality.

However, 2026 has seen a very clear reversal. In August, BTC rose by about 25%, from the 62,800 USD zone to around 78,800 USD, marking one of this year’s strongest monthly gains for the cryptocurrency. More notably, the upward momentum did not stop as it carried into September, bringing BTC back to the highest price range since January this year.
