The recent inclusion of Banco de Venezuela, Banco del Tesoro, and Banco de los Trabajadores in Binance P2P payment methods has been received as a sign of institutional normalization in Venezuela’s crypto ecosystem. But beyond the political symbolism, the question that arises among traders and analysts is specific: can this integration of public banking reduce the gap between the P2P exchange rate and the BCV’s official dollar?
To answer without speculation, at PitbullChain we analyze live P2P market data captured on August 26, 2026 at 13:30 UTC, including the order book, spreads, liquidity, and the USDT premium versus the BCV.
📊 Context: public banking enters P2P
Since the easing of OFAC sanctions, Binance has been expanding its range of payment methods in Venezuela. In 2026, the platform added Banco de Venezuela, Banco del Tesoro, and Banco de los Trabajadores, joining the already traditional Pago Móvil, Banesco, Mercantil, and others. This not only expands options for users, but also brings state institutions into a market that historically operated under regulatory uncertainty.
According to recent reports, the measure was formalized by Binance Latin America through its public channels. Public banking, which for years had been on the sidelines of crypto-asset operations, is now becoming an actor present in the order book. But what real impact do these banks have on price dynamics?
📈 The data: spread, premium, and liquidity
At the time of the capture, PitbullChain’s P2P Radar showed the following global values for USDT/VES:
• Average buy rate (buy USDT): 955.02 Bs.
• Average sell rate (sell USDT): 922.35 Bs.
• Absolute spread: 32.67 Bs (equivalent to 3.54%).
• Premium versus the BCV: 21.27% (the BCV was trading at 787.52 Bs).
The market dashboard showed a score of 69/100 (yellow status), indicating mixed conditions: high liquidity across several banks, but a considerable spread that requires comparing prices before trading. In the order book, 258 active offers were observed and a depth of 565,533 USDT on the buy side and 289,685 USDT on the sell side, with an imbalance of 32.25% in favor of demand.
Regarding banks, the comparator data showed that Pago Móvil, BANK, and Banesco concentrate the highest liquidity (19.9%, 18.8%, and 15.8% respectively). Banco de Venezuela appeared in multiple order-book offers, especially the larger ones, but its prices were not significantly different from the market average.
🔎 What do the numbers say about integration?
One early hypothesis was that the presence of public banks would increase overall liquidity and compress spreads. In the observed data, liquidity is abundant: there are 258 active offers, a 95% score on the dashboard for bank availability, and healthy market depth. However, the average spread remains at 3.54%, a figure far from the mature USDT/USD markets, where it does not exceed 0.5%.
The premium over the BCV remains at 21.27%. This indicates that, despite the arrival of public banking, the P2P exchange rate is still well above the official one. If integration were reducing the gap, we would see a downward trend in this premium, but this single data point does not allow us to confirm a trend. What we can calculate is that, with the BCV at 787.52 Bs, each USDT in P2P is exchanged for approximately 167.5 Bs above the official rate.
An interesting detail emerges from the order book: the best sell price (ask) was 850 Bs on other platforms, although with a minimum amount of only 3 USDT, while the best buy price (bid) was 948.68 Bs on Binance. This anomaly creates a momentary spread of 10.4%, but it is an outlier case with low volume that does not reflect market reality. If we remove these extreme offers, the actual price range is between 946 and 955 Bs for buying and between 940 and 948 Bs for selling, with an implied spread of 1–1.5% between the best prices.
